Greg Tomlinson – Apprenticeship Field Officer
Greg has 12 years experience as an Apprenticeship Field Officer, originally starting back in 2005. In 2016 he retired temporarily to tick an item off his bucket list – to live in another country. So he moved to Thailand to work as a volunteer caring for street dogs and cats. In late 2022 he returned to his former role with The Apprenticeship Community covering the Peel, Great Southern and South West regions of beautiful WA. And he settled right back in.
“I genuinely forgot how much I enjoyed this job. There’s the same pressure to perform which comes with any job – but this one comes with the bonus of driving through some of the best scenery we have in this State. I enjoy the variety of workplaces I get to visit. And now that I’ve been in this industry for a while, I’m signing up apprentices to employers that I originally signed up as apprentices themselves. It’s great to see the VET system work so well and The Apprenticeship Community plays an important role in that.”
