School-based Apprenticeships & Traineeships

Undertaking a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship is a great way to explore career options and gain workplace experience.

This can make it easier for you to find future work once you leave school – whether you go onto further study or straight into the workforce.

A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship allows you to continue your schooling while you work (and get paid!) approximately one day a week in a workplace, or the equivalent of 7.5 hours a week over a period of 12 months.

You get a great head start on your working career too! By the time you finish high school you’ll have completed a portion of your apprenticeship or traineeship and may even be offered the opportunity to continue your training full time once you leave school, depending on your employer. Your resume will look good too, with work experience and references that employers like to see. Now, that’s smart!

Get ahead of the pack!
