Construction industry: Base employer grants increased by $3000

The Apprenticeship Community is excited to announce recent enhancements to the Construction Training Fund grants program. Here’s a summary of the cash boost recently announced by the Cook Labor Government to help construction apprentices to complete training:

  • Base employer grants increased by up to $3000.
  • Significant boosts to diversity incentives.
  • Introduction of new direct incentives for apprentices.

Grant increases:

  • Base grant for 3-4 year traineeships and apprenticeships, including civil construction, increased from $12,000 to $15,000.
  • Base grant for Cert IV in Civil Construction Supervision raised from $10,000 to $12,500.

Bonuses:

  • Female and mature-aged bonus grants
  • increased from 20% to 40% of the base grant. For 3-4 year apprentices, this translates to bonuses more than doubling, from $2400 to $6000.

Additional benefits for apprentices:

  • Eligible apprentices qualify for milestone payments of $1,000 upon completion of training milestones.
  • Apprentices entitled to a $1000 Apprentice Tool Allowance rebate at both commencement and completion of their training.
